What started off as a "Nice Nomination" has now turned into an ongoing project. I had decided to paint 10 small painting with words of encouragement on them and drop them around different locations in Dublin city centre. I left them in bags with the words "Take me, Free art" written on them. After I did this the first time, I then decided I wanted to continue doing it.
So now every few months I drop off 10 paintings in bags for people to find. The paintings have words encouragement such as "You will succeed", "Be yourself", "You look great", "Give it socks", "Follow your bliss" and "Keep smiling" on them. Videos of some of the drop offs will be posted to the 'videos' tab under 'Free Art Project'. I've recently extended this project to other cities, with the first one being in Manchester back in February, with many more to follow.
A note was left with each piece explaining the project and giving people the option to send a photo of themselves with the piece they found, if they wanted it to be included in the videos.
After the overwhelming Yes outcome of the Marriage Referendum in May, I also decided to do a thank you art drop off, leaving 22 pieces of art (to represent the date of the referendum) around the city for people to find.
