Emmalene Blake (or ESTR, as she's also known) is a street artist, graphic designer and art teacher based in Dublin, Ireland. Graduating with a Fine Art degree from the Dublin Institute of Technology in 2012, her artwork combines intricate stencilling and freehand spray painting. Emmalene divides her time between personal & commercial urban street art projects, teaching through her role at Youthreach & a selection of workshops, and commercial graphic design work.
Combining stencilling and freehand spray painting allows for the control, precise line and small detail which stencilling brings, along with the endless possibilities through scale and spontaneity when working freehand. Emmalene’s work is inspired and plays homage to the people around her.
Working closely with Irish and international brands, Emmalene has produced work for festivals and events, bespoke exterior artwork for business premises and full brand identity for clients. Previous clients include Diageo, entertainment.ie, Primark (Penneys), RTE. Along with urban art and graphic design, Emmalene has been sharing her knowledge as an artist with younger people for several years now, via YouthReach, Emmalene Art School and workshops with different youth groups and schools.
